Giving your children the gift of meditation

In this video, Jon Kabbat-Zinn, who I think bares an uncanny resemblance to the late Steve Jobs, talks about how meditation works on the brain and ultimately on our emotions, particularly in times of stress.

Of particular interest to me was his vision about equipping all children with the skills to meditate as a sort of ‘antidote’ to the stresses that always come with daily life.

Managing stress as well as achieving your highest level of intellectual ability are key themes that resonate with me, especially in relation to children.

You may wish to read another post ‘Enlightened Education’ about a proposal for a school that puts TM (transcendental meditation) are the centre of the curriculum:

    1. Many thanks for the re-blog Kiersten; the work you do with children to modify mood and behaviour looks fascinating, I have a personal interest in this area. Keep up the good work! Regards, Suzy
